Andor Thoma was one of the greatest Hungarian anthropologists of the 20th century. He was especially interested in the evolution of the Paleolithic hominids. Some of his major works were the examination of the dentition of the Subalyuk Neanderthal child, of the Vértesszőlős finds and of Palestinian fossils.
