  Biographische Notiz:   Der Verband wurde 1897 unter dem Namen Vereinigung schweizerischer Bibliothekare gegründet (VSB). 1992 erfolgte die Umbenennung in Verband der Bibliotheken und der Bibliothekarinnen/Bibliothekare der Schweiz (BBS). Der Verband existierte bis 2007 und fusionierte 2008 mit der Schweizerischen Vereinigung für Dokumentation (SVD) zum Verband Bibliothek Information Schweiz (BIS).   Inhaltsangabe:   Der Bestand enthält Unterlagen zur Verbandspolitik, zur Organisation und zu den Tätigkeiten des Verbands wie auch zum Arbeitsfeld und zur Ausbildung von Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekaren bzw. von Berufsleuten im Bereich Information und Dokumentation.

Teilweise enthalten auch übergeordnete Registraturplan-Positionen Unterlagen. Die Signaturen folgen dem Registraturplan.
